BOARD OF DIRECTORS of TheTA S.A. 

The Board of Directors (BoD) of the Thessaloniki Transport Authority S.A. is the superior administrative and principal decision-making body of the organization. 

TheTA’s statutory purpose is the development, coordination and monitoring of public urban transport, which includes urban bus lines, overground and underground rail systems, as well as sea transport services.

The various modes of transportation transfer and serve commuters in the Regional Unit of Thessaloniki via an integrated, top-quality transport system, based on the principles of sustainable mobility.


The Board of Directors (BoD) consists of the Chairman of the Board, the Managing Director and seven (7) members. It is appointed by joint decision of Ministers of Finance and Infrastructure and Transport, as defined by article 9 of Law 4472/2017. 

The BoD consists of five (5) members appointed by the Minister of Infrastructure & Transportation and a) one member proposed by the Region of Central Macedonia, b) one (1) member by the Municipality of Thessaloniki, c) one (1) member by the Regional Association of Municipalities of Central Macedonia,  and d) one (1) member proposed alternatively by the Technical Chamber of Greece (Central Macedonia chapter) or by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Thessaloniki or the Professional and Handicrafts Chamber of Thessaloniki (in each term one representative is appointed as member of the BoD, from a different Chamber each time). 

Pursuant to the provisions of Law 4972/2022 (Α΄1082), Law 4548/2018, (Α΄104), and Law 5062/2023 (Α΄183), as applicable, article 10 of the organization’s Memorandum of Association and the Minutes of the Reconvened Extraordinary General Assembly dated 08.08.2024, by resolution of which the members of TheTA’s BoD were appointed, the BoD convened and was formed into a body as follows:  

1. Ioannis Kalogeroudis, father’s name Savvas, Civil Engineer, Chairman of the Board, non-executive member.
2. Ioannis Toskas, father’s name Paschalis, Transport Engineer, Managing Director, executive member.
3. Figalia Papageorgiou, father’s name Pavlos, Geologist, executive member.
4. Ιoanna Sarrou, father’s name Konstantinos, Economist, non-executive member.
5. Charalambos Giamas, father’s name Athanasios, Electrical Engineer and Computer Engineer, non-executive member.
6. Efstathios Avramidis, father’s name Theodoros, Civil Engineer, non-executive member
7. Andreas Stoimenidis, father’s name Demetrios, Mechanical Engineer, (representative of the Municipality of Thessaloniki), non-executive member.
8. Gerakina Mpismpina, father’s name Nikolaos, του Νικολάου, Attorney at law, Mayor of Delta (representative of the Regional Association of Municipalities of Central Macedonia), non-executive member.
9. Konstantinos Laskos, father’s name Laskos, Insurance Broker, (representative of the Professional Chamber of Thessaloniki), non-executive member.
