Persons eligible for transportation under full or partial exemption from fare
OSETH offers the right of transportation, on the means of transport under its authority, under full or partial exemption from fare to specific categories of passengers-beneficiaries.
The categories of people who are entitled to travel free of charge, or at various types of reduced fare, are determined by the applicable legislative provisions according to which the following are defined as beneficiaries of a special ticket:
(b) Unemployed, registered with O.A.E.D., residents of the R.U. of Thessaloniki, with a period of unemployment longer than 12 months, as long as they meet the income criteria set out in Article 19 of Law 4921/2022 (A' 75), as amended by Article 21 of Law 5006/2022 (A' 239)
Families with three children do not fall into the category of multi-child families and are therefore not entitled to a reduced fare.

2. Students of the Open University
3. Students of a Higher Education institution or other university based abroad

Keep in mind
The right to travel with full exemption from paying the fare, or at a reduced fare, on the buses under the responsibility of OSETH, is certified by showing the Personalized Card, which is issued by OSETH. During the fare check, the right may also be certified by showing the supporting documents confirming status (academic ID, certificate of multi-child family entitlement, etc.).
